Madrak [5] - Painting continues

Yes indeed, painting continues, and first things first I've completed his head. The three photos above show off a new supply called "Pigments" - which is essentially using powders to highlight and shade. (More on pigments in a later post though, for now you can see the transition in the gold.)

I've even used some neon paints to try and brighten the intensity. (Like Raffa's Visions of Hatred) I'm going to continue experimenting with them in his runes as well.

I got a lot done this past weekend, a big part being both the skin, gold and straps on him.

Many many layers were used, but there's a brief overview. Basically, it's the exact same steps as I used in part 4 to paint his head, but applied to his body and armour.

I used pigments to paint his black armour - but again, I'll cover pigments in a later post.

Annnnnd here's where we stand after a weekend of labour:

You'll notice I did in fact go back with a little Cygnus Yellow, then Menoth White, to add a brighter highlight to his armour, which was just what was needed if you ask me!

Take a look at my Step by Step page for the entire Hordebloods project.

Here you will find each model broken down into links showing each step:

  1. Wow that looks fantastic. I'm intrigued about the pigments too, I'm looking forward to the article on them.
