Postapocalyptibuggy [Part 19]

The ongoing chronicle and my first attempt at posting Work In Progress shots, this is my entry for the Massive Voodoo Mad Max Car Competition. I'll list them all on my Step by Step page, or you can view the current WIP series.

When we start to glue everything together, don't forget to scrape paint off of the gluing areas.

In some cases, like here, two types of glue are needed since there's the wire mesh involved.

So, the strip on the bottom is done with plastic glue as it's plastic on plastic.

The corner up top is done with super glue.

Before you start gluing, make sure everything fits together.

That's the obvious step. What's not so obvious, is to make sure none of the areas you've scraped show. Just make touch ups where you need to.

Since I cut the driver's door out, it left two large gaps on each side of the door. I used some packaging backing (cereal box would also work) and cut it to size, then painted black. I'll paint it up in some type of metal look.

Again, because I modified the plan, the door can be scene through.

To solve this, I filled each side with putty and I'll end up smoothing / painting it.

And now, I'm off to bed, with a finger covered in super glue due to a cracked bottle...
