Troll Axer WIP 2

Just a small update as I discuss some of the modifications that I made to the axe.

As I do for most weapons my models wield, I start by sharpening the edge to make it more realistic.

In addition, I carved some battle damage into the axe and some runes. You can also see spikes that I glued to the top of the back of the axe. These have since fallen off, sooo I need to perhaps green stuff myself a solution.

Using tweezers, I tied a knot using chain. At first I glued the chain in place, but I've since removed it. I decided to take TheWife's advice and paint first, chain later. Plus, I've recently found a better looking scale chain that looks more like "real" chain instead of the kind of spiral twisted look these chains have.

You can get all sorts of scale chains from hobby stores like Michaels, Hobby Lobby or even jewellery stores. They're chains for making your own necklaces or bracelets.

Take a look at my Step by Step page for the entire Hordebloods project.

Here you will find each model broken down into links showing each step:
Concept, Works in Progress, (for both modelling and painting) and Final Shots
