Weekly Update

Still no modelling content this week, very sorry people, but give me some time. Meanwhile, a post on Appropriate Themes for Hobbying in response to a terrible diorama I came across. Also, the beginning of my Blog-Fu series in "So You Want to be a Blogger?"

There's a new blog about, called Maximum Heresy. They look to have some cool modelling potential, since you're following, I hope you read this - enable comments, great pics on the gun modding, more pics on painting squads.

A helpful article on making custom bases: http://fromthewarp.blogspot.com/2011/01/creating-custom-sized-bases.html

An excellent tutorial from, what? DeviantArt? http://jukasebana.deviantart.com/art/Tutorial-Shiny-black-armor-193152704
(I also suggest looking at the rest of Jukasebana's stuff)

If you're interested in air brushing: http://awesomepaintjob.blogspot.com/2011/01/death-gaurd-tutorial-is-live.html

GMort talks about his wargaming nostalgia: http://www.houseofpaincakes.com/2011/01/they-dont-make-nostalgia-like-they-used.html

This is a look at an incredible Kroot Renegade force: http://www.legionsgames.com/mastergallery/kroot_renegades.htm

This is an incredibly well painted model done with washes - something I want to explore at some point. Not only is the coat beautiful, but washing over white to create a well done black looks just great: http://40khobbyblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/death-korps-of-krieg-test-mini.html

You could probably spend hours looking through this gallery of beautiful minis from around the world: http://www.mainlymedieval.com/ozpainters/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=750&sid=d5725ac4a61eccfc65188381f28c5aa0

A bunch of Eldar news this week, yay!

Some more shots of the new Eldar aspect warriors possibly named Shadow Specters or Shadow Spectres from Forge World. Geared with some form of jump pack or warp spider warp pack and armed with possibly mini D-cannons or mini Prism cannons?

It's just a rough sketch, but grabs me as really "Eldar" http://pintoro.deviantart.com/art/Scorpion-95768198 and this is just great http://keb-s.deviantart.com/art/Marine-Hunter-192619967

And something else for Eldar fans: http://tacticangel.deviantart.com/art/Iderhra-Pattern-Serpent-185738811
(A great mix of old and new)

And more for Eldar! http://craftworldlansing.blogspot.com/
I want to like the site - it seems well done, and probably great for the gamers out there on all things Eldar and Dark Eldar, but not enough hobby content for me. I'm still going to plug it though cause I like me some Space Elves.

  1. Thanks a lot for the plug, N++. I really think you have a great blog here too and I'm not just saying that. Great stuff.
